Fussy and Fancy Friday a sketch

The challenge over at Fussy and Fancy Friday challenges at the moment is a sketch and I used this as the basis of my card and thought it would work very nicely with an image I won recently from Tickled Pink Stamps of  Lil Victorian Luca who I decided to colour with my wc pencils for a change and I'm quite pleased with how the image turned out as I dont use the pencils very often (love my copics too much! lol)  Well the papers are all from the Neutral stack from DCWV, I love how some of this stack is foiled it is a great effect.  I also used a fiskars texture plate to add some feather texture to a piece of the paper and then cut some cogs using my new nesties (lovin' those dies!)  Finally added some cream ribbon threaded through a metal clock button.  (Can you tell I'm still trying to get the hang of this Steampunk lark! lol)
I would also like to enter this card into the followng challenges:

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 6 ~ Text Me

Time for week 6 of the TGF Heart Journal and this weeks title is 'Text Me'  so Ria and I decided to cover our page in different uses of text, such as word search, stamps, lists etc so we collaged the page and then I added some handwritten journalling asking how we got from decorative and descriptive writing to txt spk? and asking if our children will be able to spell words with vowels in them!  lol!!  Well once the page was finished it just didnt look complete so I ran a red ink pad over it, not sure now if that was the right thing to do but its done! but then I suppose that is the purpose of the journal to try out new and different techniques.

I would like to enter this into the following challenge:

a bright & cheery card

At long last I got round to treating myself to the new collection of digi stamps 'Let It Shine' from Charmed Cards and Crafts, I've loved their digi from the begining and they are what got me started with blogging and this new collection is not disappointing.  One of the great things with these collections is that they also come with pre coloured images for when you are in a hurry!  Well todays card uses a pre coloured image not because I was in a hurry but because I was looking for inspiration and when I looked at their dresses I knew what card I was using!  The card is from the glitter stack from DCWV and it sparkles wonderfully which doesnt really show in the photo.  The quote is from Sentimental Sundays and I thought it worked well with this image, then I coloured the chipboard flourish with copics and added some gems and ribbon from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sentimental Sundays #69 ~ Birthdays
OSAAT #76 ~ Bling it up
Truly Scrumptious #64 ~ Rocked Up Pink
Totally Gorjuss #95 ~ As you like it

Anyone For Anya ~ Vintage Vibes

This week over at Anyone for Anya the challenge is Vintage Vibes so with that in mind I decided to keep my colour pallette to the E colours with my copics.  I found a suitable piece of paper from the DCWV Neutrals pad and then I heat embossed some leaves on it using versamark and clear powder, I really like this effect but dont do it often enough.  As this is going to be for my September page of my calendar I went with a back to school theme and thougt that the Anya image from the Spotlight collection looked a bit like she was in school unifrom.  I used my new triangle punch to make the flag from a scrap of paper and stamped 'back to class' on it and fixed it to a 'berry pin'.  I distressed the edge of the paper which doesnt really show that well in the picture and then added a folde flower and a little wooden flower to one corner and finished off with a wooden button rucksack to which I added 3d glaze.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crazy Challenge #81 ~ Back to school
Fab 'n' Funky #87 ~ Mono madness

Another attempt at Steampunk

I really like the look of Steampunk things so when I spotted the Nesties Sprightly Sprockets while on holiday I just knew I had to have them and they just happened to be next to the Tim Holtz Gadget Gears Bigz die and that just happend to fall into my basket as well!  So todays project has put both of them to good use.  So I started off with a mountboard background and covered with Papermania Regency papers, various cogs cut using the papers too.  Also cut 2 gears from mountboard and coloured them using versamark and Ranger Perfect Pearls powders then I added a TGF image coloured with copics then some brads and a slider from my stash and a couple of old keys that Ria collected from Grandad while we were away oh and a piece of lace which I inked.  Hope you like it, Ria does and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Paper Sundaes #83 Sundae Bar (green & Twine)
PTW ~ Dies to die for ~I used loads on this one!

Yep week 5 of the Heart Journal with TGF and this week Ria and I chose 2 of our all time favourite images and we paperpieced them then added various text in the way of stamping, peeloffs and stickers which says things about us as individuals but more about us as mother and daughter.  We are enjoying this joint project, I just hope Ria will still find the time once she is back at school next month.

The 'Top Chef' up in the corner isnt actually a compliment its referring to the fact that I usually end up burning the sausages! and Red Z and Sassy are our Mii characters!

Summer of Fun preview day 2

Over at the Crafty Sentiments store Thursday 25th August see the release of our new 'Summer of Fun' rubber stamps, featuring Primrose & Billy, and they are adorable and great fun to work with.

Over the next few days, the DT will be treating you to a preview of the fab images! Then on Thursday we will be having a blog hop, where 4 lucky people will win one of the new character stamps each!

So here we are day 2 of our previews, did you check out all the awesome previews by the rest of the DT, amazing huh?  Well for todays project I have made a tent card and cut my aperture using the largest die of the Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets die which I bought whilst on holiday and by applying the technique for being able to have the images over the edge of the die I did a bit of fiddling and managed to cut my aperture with the cute Billy 'Lets Swim' over the aperture.  Mind you I did get a bit annoyed with the fiddly cutting out and Ria came to my rescue! lol but I am really pleased with how it worked out in the end.  I have also used 'Coral Reef set 1' to make up my little scene and coloured in with copics and I added some 3d glaze to his goggles.  The paper inside is from M&MBI paper stack.  Didnt add anything else as I thought it would end up detracting from the scene.  Now dont forget these wonderful new stamps will be available in store from Thursday 25 August.

So to see the fantastic projects the rest of the DT have made for you pop over to the challenge blog and from there you can pop to all the individual blogs.

Quirky Crafts GDT

Good evening all, well as you read this I am happily sat at my Mum & Dads place having spent a large part of the day travelling by train to get here (well ok 4 hours but thats a big chunk of my day! lol)  Ria and I are here for the week and its great to get totally away from work and know that they will not be contacting me (mind you they've done that before!)  Anyway on to my post ...  I have had the honour of being a GDT member over at Quirky Crafts,  now their challenge for this fortnight is 'Red Hat Society' and the DT had the chance of using some fabulous images by Robyns Fetish who are the sponsors for this challenge.  I chose the image called Red Hat and I coloured it using my copics, the hat band and brim are black glittered and the flower had a sprinkling of glamour dust.  I decided to keep with the colours of red, black and white for the whole of the card and added some check ribbon and a little hat charm from my stash.  the background paper is from a Joanna Sheen cd (Dancing with Shadows I think) and finished off with a peeloff sentiment.  So now its over to you check out the challenge and the fabulous work that the rest of the DT have made, you wont be disappointed then jump on in and join the challenge.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 4 ~ The Girl Inside

Ok its week 4 of TGF Heart Journal and the theme is the Girl Inside and part of the class was to include a handdrawn image of a girl!  Now I am not an artist by any stretch of the imagination and this nearly had me running in the oppositie direction until Ria sussed the best way to approach the page.  Now Ria is a very capable artist so we thought the best way was for Ria to draw an image on one side of the page and mine on the other side so this is what we came up with!  and I have to say that we are pleased with the way the page turned out and I even did some journalling on this one too! lol

this is the page as a whole

This is Ria's amazing drawing (it is based on the character Max from the series of books Maxium Ride)

And then there is mine! (lol)

I would also like to enter this page into the following challenges:

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 3 ~ Gratitude

Ok, I'm not sure if I am doing this right or not but I'm having fun doing it my way!  This week the theme for the Heart Journal is 'Gratitude' now when Ria and I started thinking about it she says wouldn't it be cool to use TGF Jade and concentrate on the attitude part of gratitude (yes I know the spelling is slightly different but lets put it down to artistic licence! lol) and I thought it was a great idea and this is the page we came up with.  The background paper is some pretty floral stuff that I have had for a very long time and I wanted to grunge it up a bit so I took it outside and sprayed it with walnut ink and silver spray ink (by inky fingers) now I have had thses inks for a couple of years and never really got the hang of them but today they seemed to work in my favour! So we used Jade and I coloured her with copics and a little stardust.  The (gr)attitude lettering was also coloured with copics (same pink as her hair!) and is a sizzix alpha called Ransom (again I have had this for a couple of years and is from an alphabet swap I took part in) the 'say what?' sentiment is also a TGF one and then the other stickers are K & Co chipboard that I won a fair while ago over at Dotties World.  We are both pleased with the end result even if it is a bit left of field! lol

Thanks for stopping by. xx

Just Us GirlS #95 ~ use fabric (not just ribbon)

Ok this week the challenge over at JUGS was to use fabric but not just some ribbon so I racked my brains (not there is a lot of them to rack!lol) and while I was having a bit of a tidy I came across some fabric that I had bought at a show with the intention of adding them to a bag or some such but decided they would work for the challenge so off I went!  I frayed the edge of the fabric for more texture and mounted it onto some mountboard, the paper is from Shabby Princess kit called two soon then added some green cs and yellow cs which I embossed with the sentiment, ribbon, brads and gems are all from my stash.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments ~ Christmas mini release

Oh wow there are some more fantastic stamps to add to the Primrose & Billy Christmas Collection and they are wonderful additions.  Just wait till you see what the rest of the DT ladies have in store for you.  These adorable new additions are available now over at the Crafty Sentiments Store, and to celebrate their release the theme of the challenge over at Crafty Sentiments this week is 'Christmas'.  Never too early to start!   I have used Billy sledging from last time but this time I have teamed him up with Primrose who is enjoying the ride, she is just so cute dont you think?  I have coloured them with copics and added some glitter.  I have then used the 'out of the box' technique with my frame which I am pleased to say was so much easier than I expected!  My papers are all from my scrap drawers and I debossed the dark blue piece and embossed the white then rubbed a blue ink pad over it, added a little organza ribbon and made the flower using a cuttlebug flower quilling die which until now I havent been able to get to grips with but realised I was making my centres too small!  so I hope to be making a few more of these now lol!
So thats what I have to offer you for inspiration, go check out the rest of the DT ladies, their work is fantastic and if you want to get hold of some of the wonderful digi images that Crafty Sentiments has to offer then you are in luck as the winner of the challenge from now on will get to choose 4 digi images as their prize - how wonderful is that?!
